Installing Writer's Blocks under Windows 7 or Windows Vista

In order to properly install Writer's Blocks under Windows 7 or Windows Vista you must temporarily turn off the Vista User Account Control system before running the Writer's Blocks setup program. Follow the instructions below to successfully install under Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

    1. Click START

    2. Choose CONTROL PANEL

    3. Choose USER ACCOUNTS AND FAMILY SAFETYVista User Account Control

    4. Choose USER ACCOUNTS

    5a. Windows 7 - Choose CHANGE USER ACCOUNT CONTROL SETTING:

    5b. Windows Vista - Choose TURN USER ACCOUNT CONTROL ON OR OFF:

    6a. Windows 7 - Set the USER ACCOUNT CONTROL (UAC) slider to NEVER NOTIFY

    7. Click OK, to save your changes.

    8. Install Writer's Blocks from the download or CD. Right-Click on the Setup program and Choose 'Run as Administrator' from the Right-Click Menu. Step through the Setup program dialogs to install Writer's Blocks.

    9. After the installation is complete, launch Writer's Blocks from the desktop shortcut icon. Right-Click on the shortcut icon and Choose 'Run as Administrator' from the Right-Click Menu.

    10. Turn the User Account Control back on after installation by following the steps above.

    11. Run Writer's Blocks from the Start Menu as usual.
